www.e-agentelocaldeseguros.com Sanitas insurance "Dependencia" - Definition ( Castellano )'Gers' - Residences for the elderly (Sanitas Group: discounts for Sanitas members and their family members - even if the family members aren't with Sanitas)Insurance which covers being dependent / 'Dependencia', which is understood to be the inability to carry out certain basic activities in normal life (AVDs): dressing oneself, feeding oneself, keeping oneself clean, moving around and continence, and for which the constant help or supervision of other people is needed to a greater or lesser extent. Three levels of being dependent have been established and these determine the amount of cover, regarding services or financial. Level I (considerable assistance), Level II (severe assistance) and Level III (extreme assistance) LIMITATATIONS: Age needed to take out this insurance: between 40 and 75. A 3 month period is established to determine the degree of dependency. COVER: There are two completely different kinds of cover available once the degree of dependency has been declared: EXCLUSION PERIODS: * 1 year for physical dependency * 3 years for mental dependency OTHER ADVANTAGES: If concerted services are not available in the vicinity of the policyholder's home Sanitas undertakes to refund the cost of those services up to the limit indicated in the individual's policy clauses and after presentation of the invoice of up to limits for geriatric residence, tele-assistance, day centres and help at home. When the state of total dependency is declared, whatever the degree might be, the policyholder is released from making further premium payments. TOTAL FREEDOM: When the state of dependency occurs, the policyholder chooses whichever cover suits his circumstances, namely services or financial assistance together with a capital payment PREMIA: Each premium is maintained for life, index-linked to increase by the cost of living which means that cover increases in accordance with the cost of living index, both in terms of services and financial assistance.
